News received a statement from Ash’s mother, Diann, on Monday.
“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, and friend Erica Chantal Ash (1977-2024),” said the statement.
“After a long and courageous battle with cancer, she transitioned peacefully surrounded by her loved ones,” said a statement from the Ash family.
The family requests that any donations be sent to the Breast Cancer Foundation of your choosing or the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation in remembrance of Erica. The message ended, “We are grateful for the kind expressions of love and support during this difficult time.”
I regret to inform you of the demise of my friend and fellow actress, Erica Ashe. Whether it was on MadTV or the television series Survivor’s Remorse, Erica was a gifted and funny person who gave her everything to her work,” Love wrote. “She used to just be there, but she’s gone now. Warmest sympathies to her loved ones and followers.”
Ash was born in Florida on September 19, 1977, and went to Emory University, according to the Hollywood Reporter. In 2011, she made her Broadway debut in “Baby It’s You!” before concentrating on roles in television and films.
