A man in Bengaluru is allegedly being held by Indian authorities on charges of providing assistance to undocumented migrants from Pakistan.
On Sunday, the suspect—named Pervez Ahmed—was captured close to the KSR train station.
Pervez, who is purportedly associated with the Mehdi Foundation International (MFI), is charged with assisting citizens of Pakistan in obtaining passports, voter IDs, and Aadhaar cards.
After it was found that two Pakistani families were living in Bengaluru without permission, he was arrested.
Police detained Rashid Ali Siddiqui and his family, who had entered India illegally from Bangladesh, and this sparked the start of the investigation.
Under interrogation, Rashid disclosed that he had communicated with Pervez, who had arranged for their migration and supplied the required paperwork.
