Slivered onions have been linked by McDonald’s to an E. Coli outbreak that has affected at least 49 people in ten states and resulted in one death.
The fast-food juggernaut has pulled its Quarter Pounder hamburgers from multiple locations due to the investigation’s focus on Taylor Farms, a California-based vegetable company.
At least ten people have been hospitalized as a result of the outbreak, according to federal health officials, including a toddler who experienced serious problems from renal disease associated with the infection. Between September 27 and October 11, victims reported becoming unwell; symptoms like fever, vomiting, and bloody diarrhea started to show up as soon as one to two days after eating tainted food.
