The new chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Representative Brian Mast, recently met with Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, in Washington.
Mast, a Florida-born US Army veteran, met with Rizwan just days after the House Republican Steering Committee elected him to lead the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
The ambassador shared the specifics of his conversation with the congressman on social media, stating that they had a “optimistic discussion” about deepening their economic involvement and fostering stronger bilateral ties between their nations.
“Happy to meet with Rep. Brian Mast @Rep,” Rizwan wrote in a post on his X account.
