Congressman Alexander N. Green was awarded the esteemed Sitara-i-Khidmat by Pakistan’s ambassador to the US, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, in recognition of his exceptional contribution to fortifying ties between Pakistan and the US.
The award also recognizes Green’s contributions to battling Islamophobia and his support for promoting Islamabad’s positive image in the US Congress. It was given to him on Monday during a special investiture ceremony at the Pakistani Embassy in Washington, DC.
Congressman Randy Weber, Representative Henry Ceullar, former Congressman Nick Lampson, Texas State Representative Suleman Lalani, diplomats, and well-known members of the Pakistani American community from Texas and the DMV area attended the ceremony, according to a statement released by the Pakistani Embassy in Washington on Monday.
