Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-Parliamentarians (PTI-P) Chairman Pervez Khattak has stated that the Imran Khan-led party’s candidates support him in his quest to create his party’s government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
When the former chief minister of KP asserted, during his speech at an election rally on Monday in Rashakai town of Nowshera, that all independent candidates nominated by the previous ruling party had their silent backing, several questions were raised.
“All independent candidates have thrown their support behind me, including PTI-backed candidates, because their party no longer exists. The founder of PTI is a self-centered man who lies to the general public and despises politicians.
The politician further attacked the former prime minister, saying that Khan was a “dishonest man” and that his pledges to the country were all false, which caused him to resign from the previous party.
From his home area of Nowshera, where he was twice elected to the National Assembly and Provincial Assembly on PTI tickets, Khattak will run in NA-33 and PK-88.
Khattak was reportedly one of the imprisoned former premier Khan’s close allies. He held important positions in the former party as the province secretary general and the KP chief ministership before being promoted to the center to serve as the defense minister during the PTI government.
