As the federal government seeks to reform rules pertaining to military courts, officials stated on Sunday that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have decided to propose the 27th constitutional amendment.
At a meeting in Lahore, they made the decision and pledged to “strengthen democracy and Parliament through collaboration.”
Along with former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, Bilawal arrived at the PM’s home in Model Town, Lahore. The meeting was also attended by PML-N leaders Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Rana Sanaullah, and Azam Nazeer Tarar.
With intentions to involve JUI-F Chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), and more major figures, the talks centered on the upcoming constitutional revision.
