ISLAMABAD In order to solve the water crisis that is posing an existential threat to countries worldwide, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of global leadership and strong political will on Tuesday.
PM Shehbaz spoke at the “One Water Summit” on the margins of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP-16), which had as its theme “Restore, Preserve, and Adapt.” He also thanked the World Bank and Saudi Arabia, France, and Kazakhstan for organizing the timely summit to discuss one of the most important issues facing humanity.
“Water is the lifeblood of the planet; it is the foundation of economic growth, food security, and environmental sustainability,” he declared.
