Starting on October 15, SIM cards registered under the identification cards of deceased individuals would be blocked, according to a statement released by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
The PTA underlined in its formal statement how urgently these SIM cards must be transferred to the names of surviving relatives.
Any SIM cards associated with deceased people will be terminated beyond the deadline.
The PTA advises people to take immediate action by going to the closest franchise with the deceased’s original death certificate and official documentation proving their relationship.
