Russia’s Defense Ministry stated on Friday that Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 121 drones that were aiming at 13 areas, including Moscow, in response to a huge Ukrainian drone strike that occurred overnight. The ministry did not specify any casualties or damage.
While other drones targeted other areas, such as those bordering Ukraine and Kursk, where Ukrainian soldiers control a portion of ground despite Russian efforts to drive them out, the ministry reported that six drones had been destroyed over the Moscow region and one over the capital itself.
According to the ministry, 20 drones had also targeted the Ryazan region southeast of Moscow, and unconfirmed videos of what local bloggers claimed as massive fires in the city were shared by channels on the Telegram messaging service.
