In Pakistan’s remote areas, where mountains reach the sky and vast deserts envelop the land, climate change is more of a scientific theory than a daily struggle. However, women are frequently on the front lines of this conflict. Despite making up the smallest portion of the world’s carbon emissions, these women suffer the most from the catastrophe.
Rural women are preparing for the numerous aspects of climate change that endanger their livelihoods, health, and security, from the intense summer heat in Sindh to the unpredictable rainfall in Punjab and floods in Balochistan. Climate change does, however, also highlight their resilience in addition to exposing their fragility. In fact, women have the power to significantly alter the course of the struggle to safeguard and enhance climate resilience for their families.
