To improve the nation’s online content administration and control, the government has formally acknowledged the implementation of an advanced Web management system.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority just upgraded the system, which independently monitors, detects, and blocks websites and mobile applications that are engaged in illegal activity, disclose personal information, or carry what they refer to as harmfully derogatory content against national institutions.
The National Assembly was formally notified by the Cabinet Division of the installation and activation of the WMS. The PTA has already prohibited 2,369 URLs and 183 mobile applications that include content that violates the legal and procedural protections for internet users, as stated in the division’s report.
