The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration on Sunday changed the start and end dates of schools in the province due to the intense heat, as heatwaves continue to suffocate many regions of the nation.
Instead of opening at 8 am, schools in the KP will now open at 7 am. Primary school students will dismiss at 11 a.m., while middle, high, and secondary schools will conclude at 12 p.m.
In a statement, the KP Education Department stated that “school timings have been changed due to extreme heat.”
In addition, the government has declared that primary schools would have summer breaks from June 1 to August 31.
Secondary schools (middle, high, and higher) will be closed from June 15 to August 31.
