Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi promised harsh measures, including the cancellation of Pakistani CNICs and passports, against “attackers who targeted” the former chief justice and high commissioner’s car after the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protested against former CJP Qazi Faez Isa in London on Wednesday.
When former Chief Justice Isa came in the UK capital on Tuesday night to attend a distinguished ceremony hosted by The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple for his elevation as Callee after he resigned his position as the nation’s top judge, he was confronted by a sizable contingent of PTI demonstrators.
The interior minister responded to the “attack” by directing the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) to promptly identify the “attackers” using the video footage of the incident and file a lawsuit against them.
