The government has declared that all of Islamabad’s gas stations will have EV charging stations installed, marking a major step forward in its Electric Vehicles (EV) Policy.
Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain presided over the fourth meeting on the EV Policy, where this decision was reached.
The minister commended the city Development Authority (CDA) for its efforts and gave them instructions to make sure that charging stations are installed at all gas stations in the city.
In order to promote EV adoption, he announced plans to give away free electric bikes to the top 120 Federal Board students in addition to providing 39,000 electric bikes and 19,000 electric rickshaws through subsidized loans.
