Twelve more persons were murdered in the last 24 hours during the continued violent battles between the tribal groups in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram district, bringing the total number of fatalities to 30, according to authorities on Saturday.
In the heavily populated Bagan and Alizai regions of Lower Kurram, the warring tribes engaged in violent gun confrontations that left at least 20 additional people injured.
The new violence occurred two days after militants in Kurram killed forty-five individuals by opening fire on two different convoys that were traveling under police escort.
Police say the continuous gunfights between several tribes have killed at least 75 individuals in the last three days.
About 300 families fled their houses and relocated to safe areas after the new violence.
