At least two individuals can be seen shooting at the entrance to Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), which is some 40 kilometers (25 miles) outside of the city, according to several footage taken during the incident earlier on Wednesday.
22 people were hurt in the attack, which has not been attributed to any group.
According to a statement from the Turkish defense ministry, “a total of 32 targets belonging to the terrorists were successfully destroyed” in the retaliatory operation.
The attack on TAI was described as “heinous” by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a post on X.
Two attackers, a male and a woman, have been “neutralized,” according to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, who also stated that the PKK was most likely involved in the attack.
Since the 1980s, the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which is prohibited as a terrorist organization in Turkey, the US, and the UK, has fought for the rights of the country’s sizable Kurdish minority against the Turkish government.
