At the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Rawalpindi, Punjab province, a young mother has given birth to six babies, beating the odds of one in 4.7 billion, according to a news source on Friday.
The Hazara Colony inhabitants Zeenat Bibi and Waheed, the mother, are overjoyed with the miraculous delivery of sextuplets, four boys and two girls.
Doctors report that the mother’s health is OK and the infants’ birth weights are normal. The babies are in good health.
Until they are given the all-clear to leave the hospital, the infants will receive medical treatment in the neonatal intensive care unit (ICU).
Although the use of reproductive medications has increased recently, increasing the likelihood of large multiple births, sextuplets do not occur spontaneously.
