According to the senior general of the US, capacity constraints and the possibility that some of the requested weapons could compromise the preparedness of the US military prevented Israel from receiving all of the weapons it requested.
Washington provides Israel, a longstanding friend, with $3.8 billion in military aid each year. Although the US has been sending Israel air defenses and weapons quickly, several Democrats and Arab American organizations have criticized the Biden administration for its unwavering backing of Israel, claiming it gives Israel an aura of impunity.
“They haven’t gotten everything they’ve asked for, even though we’ve been providing them with capability support,” stated US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Charles Q. Brown.
