The Minnesota Timberwolves will begin the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday night for the first time in 20 years, and one of its owners understands what it takes to win a title.
Alex Rodriguez, a member of the ownership group that purchased the franchise alongside Mark Lore in 2021, won a title with the New York Yankees in 2009. He is now one of the primary decision-makers.
Rodriguez referred to the first transaction as a “dream opportunity” (he admits that owning a basketball team was not the original goal, as he finished second for the New York Mets). However, the Wolves opportunity presented itself, so he leaped, and the return on investment has been fantastic.
Alex Rodriguez, part-owner of the Timberwolves, believes the team is ‘on the road’ to do something’really exceptional’.
