In the Orakzai district, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Peshawar has effectively thwarted a significant terrorist plot intended to cause havoc during the impending month of Muharram al-Haram.
Based on information, the CTD, local police, and security personnel raided the mountainous area of Pahaṟbagh, Zīṛkamar, Orakzai.
Authorities found a cache of weapons and explosives during the raid, including an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) hidden in a ghee container, nine hand grenades, six rocket launchers, six RPG boosters, ammo, fuses, and electric detonators.
The CTD has opened an inquiry into the incident and filed a case. Authorities think that unidentified terrorists were preparing a major assault for Muharram al-Haram, a crucial Shia Muslim holy month.
