Dr. Zakir Naik, an Islamic scholar, has expressed regret for remarks he made about Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
During a gathering, Naik revealed that Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori had asked him to “forget about the incident involving PIA,” which made him consider if he had really said anything about it. The governor then brought up the event with him.
He became aware of the controversy around his remarks on social media and started to wonder if they were appropriate or inappropriate. He did, however, stress that “his intentions were rooted in truth,” saying that he does not want to incite any rivalry between Indian and Pakistani brethren, similar to the divisions that the British had established prior to partition.
