The actor, who is most known for playing Jules Vaughn in the popular HBO series, joined over a hundred protestors on Monday in the lobby of NBCUniversal’s headquarters at 30 Rockefeller Plaza to demand an end to hostilities between Israel and Hamas, according to confirmation from organizers on Wednesday.
They said that while US President Joe Biden was filming his TV appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, the 25-year-old was among the dozens of demonstrators who had been jailed.
As Schafer was led by police out of the premises, he was seen sporting a black t-shirt that said “Ceasefire Now”.
As President Biden’s convoy approached, images showed more demonstrators yelling “Let Gaza Live” while sporting t-shirts bearing similar phrases.
At one point, Schafer—like many other protestors—was spotted sitting on the ground while others held up a sign that said, “Jews to Biden: Stop Arming Genocide.”
