Due to security or health concerns, Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah’s adviser on political affairs has hinted at the prospect of moving Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader clarified in an interview on Thursday that the choice to hold Khan’s trial on jail grounds was also made to protect his safety.
As the PML-N leader pointed out, “if he is brought to the complex where anti-terrorism courts or high courts are situated, then it could be very dangerous,” no one objected to his trials while he was in jail.
He pointed out that exceptional allowances could be made in case of health or security concerns. Sanaullah went on to say, “But nothing like this has been discussed so far.”
