A Greek military warship participating in the European Union’s naval mission in the Red Sea fired on two drones and pushed them back, according to a Greek Defense Staff officer.
The EU’s Red Sea mission, known as Aspides, was created in February to assist secure the important maritime commerce route from drone and missile strikes by Yemen’s Houthis, who claim they are retaliating for Israel’s invasion of Gaza.
Greece has supplied a frigate for the task.
