Authorities at Lahore Airport found 28 pills of ice, or crystal meth, in the stomach of a traveler headed to Saudi Arabia during a significant anti-drug operation.
Two people were also detained by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for trying to bring more than 2.5 kg of cocaine into Dubai.
The raid was a component of a larger national investigation that included nine raids and 11 arrests. ANF found 212 kg of drugs in total, including hashish and prescription medications, in different parts of Pakistan. Notably, five kilograms of opium were taken from suspects in Lahore and twenty kilograms of ice were found in Kasur.
A suspect in Islamabad who was close to a university admitted to distributing drugs to students, but investigations are still ongoing.
