Nawaz Sharif, the PMLN chief and former prime minister, has reached Washington, D.C.
When he arrived, Rizwan Sheikh Saeed, Pakistan’s ambassador to the US, and embassy personnel welcomed him.
According to sources, Sharif is mainly traveling for a medical examination. Meetings with influential US leaders are also planned, though. Apart from his medical appointments, Mr. Sharif is also planned to meet with Pakistan Muslim League (N) members in New York and offer his condolences to Ambassador Saeed’s family in light of the untimely death of his wife.
A journalist asked Sharif, before to his departure, why he had not been elected prime minister once more.
