KARACHI: With an incredible haul of three gold, three silver, and two bronze medals, Pakistan’s taekwondo team achieved history in the 6th Asian Open (Kyorugi) Taekwondo Championship in Indonesia.
This accomplishment is noteworthy since it is the first time that Pakistani athletes, both male and female, have achieved this kind of success at an international taekwondo competition.
Pakistan became victorious in a hotly contested championship, with Kazakhstan coming in second and Malaysia in third. The competition, which took place from October 14–17, highlighted Pakistani athletes’ emerging abilities on the Asian scene.
In the -58kg division on Thursday, Haroon Khan outperformed his countryman Abubakar to earn the gold medal.
