Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the World Bank’s $20 billion, ten-year funding program for Pakistan as a “timely intervention” to address the nation’s fundamental problems, such as poverty, the economy, digitization, and climate change.
The PM declared, “Today is the great day in Pakistan’s history in terms of relations with the World Bank,” during the launch of the FY26–FY35 Country Partnership Framework for Pakistan.
PM Shehbaz went on to say that the international financial institution has helped the nation for many years and has helped build important projects like generating hydroelectric power and reforming the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and other national organizations.
