As Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir is marked today, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif encouraged New Delhi to address the long-standing dispute via discussion, emphasizing that granting due rights to the people of Kashmir is the only way to maintain peace and stability in the region.
The prime minister said in his televised speech to the Azad Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly that the day would come when both Israel and India would have to grant the people of Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) their rightful rights because any other course of action would result in complete destruction.
He claimed that Pakistan’s defense included its status as a nuclear state. But he added that Pakistan had never considered using its nuclear weapons for aggression.”Therefore the better option is to adopt the peaceful way and sit together to find out the peaceful solution to the Kashmir dispute.”
The prime minister stated that this event served as a reminder of the serious repercussions of India’s unlawful acts on August 5, 2019, when the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi removed the disputed valley’s semi-autonomous status.
Since then, he claimed, attempts have been made in IIOJK to stifle the media and the legitimate leadership of the Kashmiri people. “There are still thousands of political prisoners, and 14 political organizations are no longer allowed to operate.
