According to Wisconsin police, a child no older than seven or eight years old made the emergency call regarding Monday’s school shooting.
At a Christian private school, a 15-year-old girl identified by authorities as Natalie Rupnow shot and killed a teenage student and a teacher, while six others were hurt. Also discovered dead with a handgun was the assailant, who was a student at the school.
The child who called 911 shortly before 11:00 local time (17:00 GMT) was in the second grade, according to the Madison police chief. “Give it a minute to sink in,” Shon Barnes advised reporters.
The attacker’s motivation is still unknown. Tuesday afternoon is when the next police press conference is anticipated to take place.
