In celebration of Donald Trump’s victory as president, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his followers praised what one Israeli settlement movement leader described as a friend who would provide them with “unconditional” support.
Netanyahu congratulated Republican Trump, claiming that the former president had made “the greatest comeback in history.”
He issued a statement that was supported by the leaders of the hard-right nationalist religious parties in his coalition: “Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America.”
