What some experts are referring to as “the most important legal issue” before the November elections is a lawsuit that will soon find its way to the Supreme Court, contesting the validity of President Biden’s executive order granting voting access.
In March 2021, the president signed Executive Order 14019 on “promoting access to voting,” which prompted a group of Pennsylvania lawmakers to file a lawsuit against Biden and several federal agencies.
The 27 Republicans, who are members of the state Freedom Caucus, claimed that the order is unconstitutional because Congress has never passed a law allowing the president to use the Oval Office for such an action. They claimed that the order is essentially an executive get-out-the-vote campaign that targets specific demographics in order to benefit the president’s political party and his own reelection.
The Supreme Court will hear a challenge to Biden’s executive order encouraging voter turnout. “Aim for welfare groups.”.
