In the Merseyside town on Monday, Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, were fatally stabbed.
Alice passed away at a hospital on Tuesday morning, while Bebe and Elsie passed away on Monday night.
Tuesday night’s vigil outside Southport’s Atkinson arts complex brought tears to the eyes of many who participated.
However, later in the evening, there were violent scenes in the town as police officers were hurt during a fight with protesters outside a mosque in Southport.
Bebe’s family issued the following statement following the announcement of the names of the three girls that died: “No words can describe the devastation that has hit our family as we try to deal with the loss of our little girl Bebe.”
Alice’s family said, “As we’ve always said, you’re always our princess, and nothing would change that. Keep grinning and dancing like you love to do.
