At 17:50 GMT on Wednesday, Thomas Taylor passed away in the hospital following the incident close to Bedford’s bus station.
Two 18-year-olds and a 17-year-old suspect were detained by the police for interrogation after being apprehended on suspicion of murder.
A guy in his 60s was arrested on suspicion of aiding an offender on Thursday, but he was later freed on bail while additional investigation was conducted.
Thomas’s death was described as “an absolutely shocking incident” by Det Insp Richard Stott, who is in charge of the investigation for the major crime squad of the Bedfordshire Police.
“We want to reassure the wider community that officers are pursuing all lines of inquiry as well as carrying out increased patrols in the surrounding area,” he stated.
Samantha Taylor paid homage to her son in writing earlier this week.
