ANP province president Mian Iftikhar Hussain spoke to Kukikhels at their protest camp at the Bhagiyarree checkpost on the main Peshawar-Torkham Highway. He told them that his party will stand firmly behind them because their issue has grown to be a national concern for the Pakhtun people.
He questioned the justification for preventing the surviving Kukikhel families from returning to their homes in spite of government declarations that militant organizations had been destroyed and the border with Afghanistan had been securely secured with barbed wire.
“There is no law in the world that forbids law-abiding citizens from returning to their homes, but in this case, the exact opposite is true, and the displaced families are not allowed to return to their respective areas, which have recently been devastated by military operations and terrorism,”
