The White House reprimanded Mr. Musk in a statement. “Violence is to be despised, not promoted or made fun of. “This rhetoric is reckless,” remarked Andrew Bates, a spokesman.
The CEO of Space X and Tesla removed the message early on Monday.
He remarked, “Well, one thing I’ve learned is that it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to be as hilarious as a post on X just because I say something to a group and they laugh.”
In the US election scheduled for November, Mr. Musk is a well-known supporter of Trump and frequently shares messages endorsing the Republican nominee.
In light of ongoing investigations into the events at Mr. Trump’s Florida golf property, where Secret Service agents opened fire after spotting a weapon sticking through bushes, he decided to remove the tweet.
