Two police officers and a Frontier Constabulary (FC) official lost their lives in a terrorist attack on a police checkpoint in the Khyber area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, local authorities reported.
According to the district police officer (DPO), two rocket launchers were fired by terrorists during their attack on the Takhta Beg check post, which resulted in an exchange of gunfire. Following the attack, the terrorists and the post’s security personnel engaged in a heavy gunfight.
In the confusion of the counterattack, the terrorists were able to flee in spite of the police and FC personnel’s response.
To capture the terrorists who are escaping, security personnel have set up a perimeter and begun a search and arrest operation.
The local community and law enforcement organizations are grieving and angry over the deaths of the two security officials. The police officer and the FC official who gave their life while performing their duties have both been praised as heroes.
