The Target Towns of Grimsby and Cleethorpes will see a tough electoral contest. To regain control of this newly combined constituency from the Conservatives, Labour will require an 11.7 point swing.
Small company owner Shannon stated on Politics Hub With Sophy Ridge that she “just can’t trust anything anybody says” and that she might not cast a ballot in the upcoming general election later this year.
Since Brexit, which Grimsby was largely in favor of, she claimed to have felt this way because “we were promised ‘x’ and ‘y’ and it hasn’t happened, so I’m just totally disengaged from it.”
Shannon responded “possibly” when asked if local MPs Melanie Onn of Labour and Lia Nici of the Conservatives could persuade her to change her mind, but she also emphasized how disappointed the community feels.
