Gillian Anderson, a two-time Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe winner, has officially joined the Tron franchise.
The third installment of the well-liked Disney series, Tron: Ares, will follow the 1982 release of Tron and the 2010 release of Tron: Legacy.
The 55-year-old American actress is set to collaborate with Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Sara Desjardins, and Cameron Monaghan on Tron: Ares, according to Deadline.
Although the movie’s actual filming has started, nothing is known about Anderson’s or her other co-stars’ characters.
Disney did, however, clarify that the narrative adheres to the two previous movies’ plot, with Ares (Jared Leto) transitioning from the Tron computer game universe to the human world.The public is excited to witness Anderson’s new sci-fi project after he won critical praise for his role of Agent Scully in the cult TV series The X-Files and for his outstanding work in The Crown and Hannibal.
