Dominique Pelicot, Gisele Pelicot’s ex-husband, raped the 72-year-old woman while sedated.
He allegedly hired men online to rape her and mashed sleeping tablets and other anti-anxiety medicines into her food and drink for nearly ten years.
He has previously acknowledged that he organized hundreds of guys to visit the residence and rape her while she was unconscious. His crimes took place between 2011 and 2020.
Ms. Pelicot arrived to court on Wednesday to cheers from her family.
He went with her to the gynecologist when she fell ill.
My life has completely changed. She said to him, You decided to do this.
Referencing evidence that Dominique Pelicot had snuck narcotics into her meals, the court inquired about their mealtime pattern.
According to Gisele Pelicot, he had prepared numerous meals and frequently gave her ice cream afterward.
“I’m fortunate to have a husband who takes such good care of me,” she told the court, adding that she had no idea the food was tainted.
