ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) National Assembly members’ eight-day remand was deemed void by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday.
After hearing the arguments from both sides, IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz announced the reserved ruling.
This comes after the PTI’s power display in Islamabad last week, which resulted in multiple arrests of party leaders by the police on September 9.
The instances include the alleged attack on police at Chongi No. 26, which became the scene of a confrontation between PTI members and law enforcement officials (LEAs) when the formers strayed from the paths that led to Sangjani, the location of the party’s open meeting.
