Following an investigation into the use of outdated injections on cancer patients at Mayo medical in Lahore, four medical staff members were determined to have been negligent.
The Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline, and Accountability Act (PEEDA) has also authorized an investigation into the four workers.
The deputy drug controller, a nurse, and two dispensers are among the accused; they were all determined to have handled the injection administration improperly. Some patients received overdoses as a result of these workers’ carelessness in bringing the injection to the ward, according to the probe report.
The overdose constituted a risk to the health and safety of the cancer patients receiving treatment, which further underscored the grave repercussions of the employees’ irresponsibility in the report.
