According to a News poll conducted a year before the election, the Conservative Party has fallen to a new low with a 20-point edge over Trudeau’s Liberals.
Poilievre wants to take advantage of Canada’s post-pandemic social and economic problems by appealing to both conventional conservatives and the more populist segments of society.
Despite losing the key seat in the special election, Canada’s Trudeau will continue to serve in his current position.
A small uprising inside his own party is posing a threat to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who has held the position since 2015 and is seeking a fourth term. In the House of Commons in Canada, the Liberal Party has 153 seats. Since Trudeau’s popularity has declined and could influence the outcome of the upcoming election, a number of party lawmakers wrote to him requesting that he resign as party leader.
