An increasing number of Pakistani individuals are choosing alternate energy sources over the national grid as electricity bills keep rising.
An increasing number of people are looking into more affordable and environmentally friendly choices as a result of the fixed costs and rising basic electricity bill.
Net metering has become one of the most widely used substitutes, with a notable increase in its user base nationwide. The number of people using net metering has increased dramatically from 60,000 to 200,000 in the last year. Due to this spike, net metering’s part of the nation’s energy mix has practically doubled, going from 1,500MW to 3,000MW in capacity.
Additionally, the switch to net metering has resulted in a 12% annual decrease in the total amount of electricity consumed across the country.
