A £45 face value ticket to an Anne-Marie event at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena in November was compared amongst vendors by the consumer group.
Which? discovered that the largest ticketing websites often increase the price of a ticket by 20%, but they also mentioned that “charges can be lower or even sometimes higher than this”.
After deducting £1.50 for processing, £2.50 for shipping and transaction, £5.62 for booking, and £1.75 for venue levy, Eventim’s total charge was £56.37.
A total of £54.87 was charged to seeTickets, which included a £7.37 booking fee and an additional £2.50 in surcharges.
After deducting a £6.10 service charge, £1.75 facility charge, and £2.75 order processing cost, ticketmaster clients were presented with a final price of £55.60.
“Sneaky drip pricing tactics,” according to Which? director of policy and advocacy Rocio Concha, who also stated that it’s understandable that music lovers occasionally feel duped.
