She said to News that she had a layover in Doha, Qatar, and hoped to take a standby flight to Chicago that day.
Attempts by a flying passenger to steal upgraded seats as plane boards cause outrage on social media.
She noted in an email that at first, talks with the airline personnel gave her optimism that she wouldn’t have any problems returning home, especially because the Doha to Chicago aircraft had plenty of seats available.
She continued, “So, it surprised me when they told me at the end of boarding that I couldn’t be assigned a seat because of a weight restriction.”
Jaroslawski said she was feeling overwhelmed and disheartened because there were no practical flight options left for the remainder of the day.
