In response to the surprise attack that has lost the dictatorial regime control of Aleppo, the country’s second-largest city, Syrian and Russian jets are increasing their strikes on rebel fighters in northern Syria.
The rebel alliance has also taken control of a significant military post east of Aleppo as well as sizable portions of the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib as a result of the offensive. It has encountered minimal opposition from government forces on the ground, and it coincides with the fact that Russia and Iran, Syria’s main supporters, are preoccupied with their own wars.
Rescue organizations and human rights organizations say that Syrian army airstrikes in recent days have killed dozens of civilians and caused displacement in areas affected by the conflict. Fighting from November 26 to December 1.
