ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has withdrawn the notification it had previously issued suggesting that travelers from outside be prohibited from bringing more than one cell phone.
Following orders from FBR Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial to immediately cease the implementation of changes to the Customs Baggage Rules 2006, the decision was made.
This implies that the current rules allowing travelers to bring up to two cell phones will remain in effect.
Additionally, the FBR chairman has directed that the proposed prohibition on commercial goods valued at more than $1,200 be withdrawn.
Rather, it has been agreed that following consultations, the rules would be reviewed and resubmitted for approval.
