Before the next hearing, a federal law officer was instructed by Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza to submit comments on behalf of the respondents.
On July 8, the LHC directed the interior ministry to take Mr. Elahi and his two family members’ names off the no-fly lists so they could travel overseas. The petition claimed that the names had been temporarily deleted by the authorities, only to be added back later. According to the appeal, Mr. Elahi desired to take his family on an Umrah trip overseas. It requested that the court direct the authorities to take the petitioners’ names off of the no-fly lists permanently.
The two other members of the former chief minister’s family were included to the Passport Control List (PCL).
